Warming up for the 2020 Olympics at Nanairo Ekiden Stirling

The summer of 2020 will see Tokyo host the Summer Olympics. A team of students at the University of Stirling are getting warmed up for them early by hosting Nanairo Ekiden – an event first started in Japan to celebrate the values of the Olympics and the Paralympics through sport, this event has been hosted worldwide and for the first time ever in Europe this year, right here in Stirling!
The event will bring together Scottish and Japanese Culture ahead of Tokyo 2020. The main event is a team relay race, with four side events – one of which will be a taster of Highland Games events hosted by the Bridge of Allan Highland Games! Current and previous Olympic and Paralympic athletes will be there on the day to celebrate the values of the Olympic and Paralympic games.
These events are designed to be accessible for everyone to take part, no matter their ability!
