The last two years have been hard on us all – separated from our loved ones, restricted in what we could do and where we could go, all to keep each other and ourselves safe. We were heartbroken to have to call the BofA Highland Games off in both years due to covid restrictions, although we knew that it was the only safe option that we could have taken at the time. We were heartened last year to receive a message of support from HRH Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay and Patron of the Scottish Highland Games Association, giving his support to all of the Games affected by the covid pandemic.
Now in 2022, we are delighted that the games can once again go ahead at full capacity! We will have the usual array of events, competitions, stalls, food and drink and more for our visitors, and can’t wait to welcome everyone back once again.
Of course, we want all of our visitors to feel safe and relaxed when they visit us. The majority of our event is outdoors (the rest being in well-ventilated tents), and while mask wearing is not compulsory in Scotland or at the event, we welcome anyone who would feel safer doing so, to wear one.
