Each year we are delighted to welcome pipe bands from across the globe. Scotland is at the heart of the history of pipe bands and the tradition has spread internationally over the centuries, and so we delight in seeing bands from every corner of the world convene in Scotland each summer.
This year we will welcome the Royal Army of Oman Pipe Band. The band was established when Sultan Qaboos bin came to power in 1970 and made efforts to modernise the nation and reverse its isolation. Having graduated from an English military academy and served in a the Cameronian (Scottish rifles) regiment, he had a fondness for bapipes and established the Royal Army of Oman Pipe Band.
We look forward to welcoming them, and pipe bands from Scotland and further afield, on the 5th August.
